What should a tattoo deposit policy say?

A clear deposit policy answers four questions before a client ever has to ask them. How much is the deposit. Does it apply to the total price of the piece. Is it refundable, and if not, say so plainly rather than hinting at it. How much notice does the client need to give to reschedule without forfeiting it.

Keep the language plain. A client reading it at 11pm on their phone before booking should understand it in one pass, not need to call the shop to interpret it.

State it where the client sees it during booking, not only in a form they sign once they arrive. If they never saw the policy before paying, it is much harder to enforce.

Turbo Link's built-in consent and deposit tools let a shop attach this policy directly to the booking and deposit step, so the client sees and agrees to it before they pay.
